Wall & Ceiling Services

Invisible Repairs, Smooth Finishes

Drywall work is where handymen earn their reputation, because everyone can see the result forever. Our standard is simple: after paint, you shouldn't be able to point to where the damage was. That takes proper backing, the right compound in the right coats, real sanding, and matching whatever texture the wall had before — knockdown, orange peel, swirl, or smooth.

We handle everything from a single doorknob hole to hanging and finishing entire rooms, plus the ceilings other companies won't touch: water-stained drywall, sagging panels, cracked seams, and dated popcorn. If a leak caused the damage, we can fix the source and the symptom in the same visit.

Plaster Walls? We Speak Fluent 1910.

Half the housing stock in central Duluth and Superior's older neighborhoods has plaster-and-lath walls that crack as these hillside homes settle and the freeze-thaw cycle works on their foundations. We repair plaster properly — re-keying or mesh-and-setting compound, not just smearing mud over a moving crack — so the fix lasts more than one winter.

Drywall & Ceiling Questions

Can you really match my wall texture?

Yes — texture matching is a core skill, not an afterthought. We test the pattern on a scrap board first, match the aggregate and technique, and feather it into the surrounding wall so the patch disappears after paint.

My ceiling has a brown water stain. Can you just paint over it?

Only after we confirm the leak is dead and the drywall is sound. Stain-blocking primer hides the mark, but paint over wet or crumbling board fails within months. We check moisture first, then repair whatever the reading tells us — honestly.

Do you remove popcorn ceilings?

Yes, both spot repairs that match the existing popcorn and full removal with a smooth or knockdown re-finish. Homes built before the early 1980s get tested for asbestos before any scraping — no exceptions, it's a safety issue we don't gamble on.
